Book I'm Reading...

I have always loved reading books. In fact, reading is one of my favorite hobbies. Right now I am reading the book, "Broken Open: How Difficult Times Can Help Us Grow" by Author Elizabeth Lesser. I saw her recently on the re-airing of her interview on Super Soul Sunday and really enjoyed it. This book was mentioned so I decided to check it out from the local library. And, I am glad that I did. It's a great, deep and thought provoking book.

Happy New Year...

Although we are already in the month of February, it's still the beginning of the year so I want to say Happy New Year! I hope that you'v been enjoying the year thus far. Things have been going well for me so far this year. I am proud of myself because I have been consistently working out and making it a priority to watch what I eat. I wouldn't say that I am on a diet, it's just that I am making more of an effort to develop better eating habits. And, my goal is to lose some weight since I've gained too much over the last several years.

I've also made another decision and that is to join many others in the world of wearing dreadlocks. Yeah, I'm so excited!!!! Over the last few years, I have thought about wearing dreadlocks but then would chicken out since this is a total change for me. Well, I figured that 2015 would be the year to make this decision so I've started the process. I'll be 50 in October so by the time that I turn the big 5-0, I hope to weigh 25 pounds less than I do today and that my dreadlocks would have grown out by then and into the maturing process. I will post pictures in the near future!

At the end of the day, when I turn 50 I want to be fit and even more fabulous than I am today.

Until next time, peace!
